The United States presidential election of 2014 was the 57th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Republican Party candidate and incumbent President Fitzgerald Grant III and his running mate Governor of California Andrew Nichols, defeated Democratic Party candidate Samuel Reston, Governor of Maryland, and Independent candidate Sally Langston, incumbent Vice President.

President Grant became unpopular during his first term due to the scandals that riddled his administration at the time, the election saw a rematch between incumbent President Fitzgerald Grant III the Republican Party's nominee and Governor of Maryland, Samuel Reston, the Democratic Party's nominee and incumbent Vice President Sally Langston, who ran as a Independent.

This was the second time in U.S political history where a sitting Vice President choose to run against a incumbent President. Vice President Sally Langston became the second incumbent Vice President, after Thomas Jefferson to run against a incumbent President. President Grant secured the Republican Nomination very easily without much opposition, however he had to pick a new running mate when his VP ran against him, this was Governor of California, Andrew Nichols.
