Edison Davis is the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate and Senator for Florida. He is a Democrat. He serves on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

HistoryEdit

Edison was previously Olivia Pope's fiancee; they lived together from 2002 to 2006; their relationship sparked back up again six years later but didn't last too long.

Edison gets removed from the Senate Intelligence Committee after President Fitzgerald Grant learns that he met up with Olivia when she was digging into NSA secrets. After being kicked off the committee he pays a visit to Olivia at her office and tells her that he's now a client of hers. And he begins to pursue Olivia again. (Hunting Season)

A few weeks later Edison brings some of his constituents to Olivia's office because their daughter is missing and the police aren't taking the case seriously yet. Unfortunately the missing girl turns out to be a popular internet blogger who had flings with any high political figure that she could get her hands on. Edison thanks Olivia for helping the family through the tough time. (Beltway Unbuckled)

Edison continues to pursue her, asking her out while she continues to deny him. After a while he finally confronts her about it and she tells him that she wants him to keep pursuing her and when she's ready she'll tell him. Olivia finally says yes and they go out on their first date but she won't invite him in to her place, yet! (All Roads Lead to Fitz / Spies Like Us)

A few weeks later Edison is spending a lot of time at Olivia's place. And she helps him with a political advancement when one of her other clients, Senator Schuman, has to resign as the Senate Majority Leader. He makes a play for taking over as Senate Majority Leader and succeeds, to Hollis Doyle's dismay. (Defiance)

After the attempted assassination the President, Edison along with all of the other senior cabinet members are taken to a secure location. When Edison learns that Vice President Sally Langston is making a play to take over a President he notifies Olivia as soon as he could. He is in the Oval Office when Acting President Langston is sworn into office, congratulating her. (Happy Birthday, Mr. President)

His relationship with Olivia starts to get rocky. He especially gets frustrated when Olivia has her team from keeping him to see the President in his hospital room. And more frustrated when she explains her system of not answering his calls. (One For the Dog)

When Olivia starts to be really distant and has avoided having sex with Edison he accuses her of having an affair with the president (whore). But later once he realizes he was wrong he proposes to her; he loves her and wants to marry her. (A Criminal, A Whore, An Idiot, and A Liar)

Edison is worried about Olivia when he finds her in an emotional comatose state in bed, so he recruits the help of her team (Harrison, Abby, Quinn & Huck) to see if they can help her. (Truth or Consequences)

After much thought Olivia returns the ring Edison gave to her when he proposed. He wants normal, white picket fence, baking apple pie but she tells him she wants, "painful, difficult, devastating, life-changing, extraordinary love." He doesn't think love should be difficult. Goodbye Edison! (Nobody Likes Babies)
