Mary Catherine McCormack - born February 8, 1969 in Plainfield, New Jersey - is an American television and Broadway actress, who portrayed Lisa Elliot in the season four episode The State of the Union on ABC's Scandal.
She is best known for her lead role on the USA Network television series In Plain Sight where she played Mary Shannon; and her appearance in the 1998 film Deep Impact starring opposite Robert Duvall, Téa Leoni and Morgan Freeman.
Mary's other television appearances include recurring roles on The West Wing from 2004-2006 as Deputy National Security Advisor Kate Harper and ER from 2003-2006 as Debbie. One of her most notable television guest appearances is her appearance on Law & Order:Criminal Intent (2012) in a crossover episode with In Plain Sight.
She is married to director Michael Morris; they married in July 2003 and have 3 daughters; Margaret (born September 3, 2004), Rose (born May 15, 2007) and Lillian (born September 10, 2011). All girls share both their mother and father's last name.
Mary has a sister Bridget is a Supreme Court Justice for the state of Michigan and her brother William is an actor as well. He had a recurring role on her show, In Plain Sight playing FBI Agent Robert O'Conner.
